Chris Ams is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Beacon, NY. As the former frontman of the Motown-inspired soul band, Chris Ams and the Favorite States, Chris has toured across the country and held a multi-year long residency at the legendary Bitter End in NYC. He has performed and recorded alongside some of the biggest names in soul including the Four Tops, The Funk Brothers, Dennis Coffey, James Jamerson Jr, and more. Chris was featured in the Don Was All Star Revue at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall, performing live on stage with Melvin Davis, Spyder Turner, McKinley Jackson and Ken Knox. He and his band also formed a one-time mega group with The Funk Brothers touring band at Northern Lights in Detroit as a tribute to late Motown guitarist, Eddie Willis. His debut album, Chris Ams & the Favorite States, released in March of 2020, is available to hear on all streaming services.

 

Chris is currently working on his first-ever independent, solo project, and recently released his newest single, "Good Thing" on June 12th, 2024.
